Get moving mama!

Today I am asking that you get moving this morning.  I know that you may prefer not to get moving first thing, but I want you to try it out for the next couple of mornings to see how you feel.

It is our movement snack for the week. And this week we were talking about morning routines. And there were a few different things that you could practice doing. But I am going to encourage you to do one of my favorite things, which is movement, finding ways to move, whether it be a stretch for staying stretch in the morning, a quick yoga routine, even just a simple Sun Salutation, or a workout. So, remember, what I always recommend is, we don't need to think that oh my gosh, I've got a workout first thing in the morning. Now I've got to do a 30 minute workout. I don't have time in the morning, I barely have five minutes. Remember what I've said in the past. I'm not asking you to do something for an extended period of time. Let's work on five minutes. Can you do something for five minutes today or tomorrow when you wake up depending on when you're listening to this first thing in the morning to get you moving. And I'm going to recommend a sun salutation or some sort of simple stretching. So you can do this. I think I have mentioned before calf stretch where in the bathroom while you're brushing your teeth, you can do a simple cup stretch. Let's move on from that and let's bring our hands to the countertop, shift our hips back to where we're going to do like a hip hinge. And you're going to press your hips back towards the wall behind you and lengthen your spine so that your hands are on the countertop, and then you're nice and long so you get a nice hamstring stretch. And you can kind of shift your hips into that move from side to side. Legs are soft, the knees are soft, they are not locked out and they are not bent. They're just soft right now. So you shift your hips from side to side and you'll feel how that changes the stretch within the hamstrings. And then you can also bend those knees and do the same thing where knees are slightly bent and you're going to shift your hips from side to side or another way to think of it is wagging your tail. so to speak. You know imagine a dog wagging its tail and going back and forth with your hips that way to get a nice stretch and feel the difference. And that can be your simple movement. Like seriously, that's all you have to do. If you want to take it a step further. I'm going to recommend I offer quick five minute videos on YouTube. I will put a link for you. I will make sure that Thursday I will have a video, a yoga stretch for you it will be just five minutes that you can do along with me. And you can take that into your morning for the next few days if you like it. There is also someone that I also love to follow is yoga with Adrian on YouTube. She has some really great, very nice, relaxed, that might be something you might be interested in watching. Or if you are interested, I would love for you to come try one of my classes. So I offer classes on zoom. I also offer classes in person if you happen to be in the Southwest Florida area. But I do offer classes on zoom. They are a 6am class and a 915 class. Like I mentioned, that's a hamstring stretch. That can be a simple quick one minute exercise that you can do. If you want to kick it up a notch, you can do a five minute yoga stretch. My yoga stretch I will be posting on Thursday in my foreign fitmom community. You can also check out my YouTube page. There are also plenty of other YouTube videos out there for workouts and exercises if you're interested, go pick a five minute one for your morning routine, do something nice and easy. Or join me in a fitness class. So that's real simple. Hopefully you get some value out of that and something you can enjoy doing. Try it out, see if you like it.
